Can a soft close drawer slide close all the way?
I bought some 18” soft-closing drawer slides from Menards and I can’t (FOR THE LIFE OF ME) get them to shut all the way. The drawers seem a tad tight (they don’t slide as easily as I thought they would) and the soft close kicks in but then leaves the drawer open about 1/2”.
What to do when your slide out doesn’t slide in?
If the battery has plenty of juice, the next place to look is in your fuses and circuit breaker. Is there any noise coming from the motor that runs the slide out when you hit the switch?
Why are my Kitchen Drawer slides not working?
One or both of the slides could be slightly bent, perhaps from the weight of too many items inside, which could also interfere with the smooth operation of the drawer. Make minor adjustments yourself with household tools and use lubricant on the slides.

What happens when your slide out won’t slide out?
A stubborn slide-out, though, can turn your trip in to a disaster. Either you spend your days climbing over furniture in an attempt to live in an RV with the walls pushed in or you can’t depart for home with a slide-out that refuses to retract for road travel.
What to do when slide outs don’t slide in-RVing?
Consult with your owner’s manual to see if there is a way to close the slide out manually when the mechanism that is supposed to handle the job has failed. Most RV’s have some form of manual override to allow you to get back on the road successfully.
