So, I started the engine, transmission in neutral– fluid level lower. Gently remove the dip stick tube (only one bolt secures it). Push the dip stick up the tube and retrieve it (or have your assistant do it– many will volunteer to do that part in exchange for an adult beverage). Slip on the new O ring (s) and reinstall.
